We ordered drinks as soon as we arrived through table service, they didn't arrive so we had to go to the bar and get them ourselves. This happened numerous times. There were clearly not enough staff on to cater for the amount of people/tables, as we were constantly stopping a staff member to get any kind of service. On a plus the food was delivered very quickly, the 4 entrees we ordered were all delicious, however the mains were a miss, ribs were dry, lamb rack was very small & the char sui noodle salad was missing the noodles, although very delicious even without. They do not do split billing so take cash.
Nice pub with kids play area! Staff at the counter could be helpful but it depends on how they are busy! Better know what you need before reaching them as they dont recommend the best drink for the day! We know what we need so it was easy! Nice spots to enjoy the ambiance!
What can I say, it's below average. Nice facade, a couple of friendly people. However, food took an hour to arrive, with mistakes on 3/4 of it. They talk it up, and it's extremely average, especially the steak. 4 of 16 dishes were wrong. Make sure everyone brings cash if you're splitting the bill too! Avoid on the weekend. Hit and miss menu. -Child's fish and chips instead of an adults. -Food missing on two of them. - A medium well steak when I asked for medium rare. There may have been other issues, but we were in a group of 16, so hard to know. I don't enjoy doing this, but I had to send the steak back. When I did, the manager came out and tried to argue the steak was medium rare. I had to educate him on what a steak should look and feel like, even pulling up reference images on Google for him to see. I was expecting it to happen, but fortunately I was able to indicate to him he was incorrect. Anyway, I then had to wait another 15 minutes for my steak, and when it came back, it was rare, not medium rare. I wasn't going to complain a second time, hate to do it and would rather it under done than over, so I ate it. $39.50 for it though, you expect it to be cooked right. Cooking a steak correctly is a basic skill. What makes this worse is that they advertise their steak as being amazing, something award winning, picture in the newspaper, etc.. It's not, it's incredibly expensive, average steak. You can buy a slab from the super market, and bake it, and it would taste better... seriously. Sizzler and Hog's Breath are better, and cheaper and they're not the greatest steaks either. Fish and Chips were average, some of the food was nice. Maybe if they were quiet it would be alright, but I'd avoid this place on the weekend. Anyway, below average experience.
