  I am currently writing this review FROM Vietnam (while waiting at the airport). I had come to this Launceston branch a few weeks ago to exchange various currencies for my trip. Note: both branches have exactly the same exchange rates as prescribed from head office. The branch is as you would expect, simple and functional. May I just say, however, one is short of options for currency exchange in Launceston - and they know this. Moreover, while I am used to having actual foreign currency with me handy when I travel, the exchange rate offered by both branches of Travellex listed in Launceston on Google is especially horrendous. Here's an example, particularly common with currencies that need to be ordered (next-day service provided). Amongst the various currencies that I exchanged, I spent 515AUD to about 6.8 million Vietnamese Dong. While in Vietnam, withdrew cash out of an ATM (using the bank's rates INCLUDING FEES ETC) 500AUD came up to over 8 million Vietnamese Dong. THAT IS, you save about 15% if you DON'T use Travellex and use your credit card instead. HINT: even the foreign exchange counters IN Vietnam airports have better rates. HAD I NOT USED TRAVELLEX, for the same amount of cash I used (1,030AUD) I would have got 16.5 million Vietnamese Dong; in another words, I would've saved myself about 100AUD for the same amount of money if I didn't use Travellex and took the cash out in Vietnam itself. If you must have cash handy when you arrive, go for it. Otherwise, you're way way way better off with something else: take the cash out of your bank, even if out of an atm at the airport in your foreign country.
