About Royal Adelaide Golf Club

Pubs and Clubs welcomes Royal Adelaide Golf Club, in Seaton for all your restaurant and entertainment needs, enquire online today.

The Royal Adelaide Golf Club links at Seaton has been the venue for many international and interstate matches and championships.

The club has hosted nine Open Championships of Australia and 16 Amateur Championships of Australia.

The Australian Ladies Amateur and Open Championships have also been played over the links.

A one-of-a-kind course, Royal Adelaide has changed substantially over the years, yet retained its fundamental character and charm.

Royal Adelaide retains the distinctive character of a comparatively open links course, an attribute by no means common in this country.

It is this character which members and visitors alike recognise as a priceless asset in a golf course situated so close to a major city.

Taken as a whole, the Seaton course, with its wide open spaces, poses more problems than appear at first sight, except under the most benign conditions.

Most members are more than happy to complete their round having played to their handicaps.

Green fees vary so please enquire direct.

Challenging for the group. One tip.. course management should be exercised.

Also commonly known as Seaton, the present Royal Adelaide course, rated 4-1/2 stars, was substantially redesigned by Dr. Alister MacKenzie in the mid-1920s. Here is an open, undulating inland links course, built on the Adelaide sandbelt, which presents a wonderfully testing challenge to all golfers. Don't be surprised to see an occasional commuter train trundling along the single-track railway that diagonally bisects the course.

I have been Xmas dining here with Triumph Sports Owners SA for seven years. I was there with TSOA on Saturday night. So good I was happy to return next day for the MX 5 Car Club Xmas Lunch. I suspect it will be a regular for them too. A five star venue with a delightful outlook over the golf course, the food is superb and the wine list comprehensive and reasonably priced. The staff in all areas are friendly and cheerful. In the dining room, everything works like clockwork thanks to a delightful lady called Elizabeth who has been there FOREVER and leads a happy and well trained team . Table service is calm and discreet and does not miss a thing with never any confusion over orders. Can't wait for next year! Fay Esau and Andy Anderson.
