The Belgians are renowned just as much for their quirky off-the-wall customs as they are their exquisite beers, and here at the Belgian Beer Cafe, they offer generous serves of both. Regulars hardly bat an eyelid at the sight of a besuited businessman wearing one fluffy pink slipper on his left foot while nursing an ornate glass of Kwak, but it does have the odd newcomer looking up from their Chalice of Lefe Brune. That's what is known as the 'shoe for the glass' tradition: when ordering a Kwak, customers are asked for their left shoe as a holding deposit on the glass and are loaned a slipper in exchange. Exquisite beer deserves exquisite food and the Belgian Beer Café has unique European fare as well as some smart Aussie pub favourite’s available noon until late 7 days a week.
