Regulars hardly bat an eyelid at the sight of a besuited businessman wearing one fluffy pink slipper on his left foot while nursing an ornate glass of Kwak, but it does have the odd newcomer looking up from their Chalice of Lefe Brune. That's what is known as the 'shoe for the glass' tradition: when ordering a Kwak, customers are asked for their left shoe as a holding deposit on the glass and are loaned a slipper in exchange.
