About 13B:

As the latest victim of baffling NSW liquor licensing laws, already responsible for Swillhouse around the corner having to change its name to Shady Pines Saloon, what was the fantastic Safe House is now the even better 13B.

This place has some stiff competition, sitting across the road from the Commons Local Eating House and in between Doctor Pong and Pocket Bar, but when you've got coffee this good (Gravity Espresso's 6 Degrees Darker blend) and a succinct but devilishly good menu filled with gourmet nosh, competition isn't something you're scared of.

On entering this little cafe-cum-wine bar, the decor has an immediate impact. The marble tabletops and ornate detailing on the front of the bar provide nice counterpoints to the overall chocolate and black tones of the refit, while miniature golden candelabra line the sombre walls to create an intimate atmosphere just made for drinking and dining come nightfall. Luckily, the new name has helped the boys at 13B acquire a small bar licence, so now you can take full advantage of the quaff-inducing atmosphere.
