The Arcadia Hotel, located on the corner of Punt and Toorak Rd in South Yarra, is one of Melbourne's oldest hotels. But don't let its age fool you. The Arcadia Hotel has been rocking with live bands and huge, faithful crowds for many years, and features live music most nights of the week.
What's more, the hotel has recently undergone major renovations and now has a more modern, comfortable hotel environment. The inclusion of new lounge areas, 8 domestic and international beers on tap, 6 pool tables and multiple large screen TVs has created an exciting entertainment venue.
Arcadia is also famous for their cheap but very generous, tasty and popular meals. Every Tuesday they have a $12 Parma night and Wednesdays is $12 steak night. The steaks are huge porterhouse and you don’t have to pay extra for crinkle cut chips, delicious sauce and a crispy salad.
Arcadia has Trivia nights every Monday, Poker every Tuesday, a Pool competition on Thursdays as well as their famous uni nights on Saturdays with a live cover band playing the best hits and top 40 songs, as well as cheap drink specials and a D.J.
There is something on every night of the week at Arcadia, so whether it's a quiet afternoon drink on the rooftop bistro garden, a game of pool or a night out with friends, the Arcadia Hotel has it all

Q Bar is a concept of a Bar Club that is open 7 nights a week year in year out. Many in the industry believed that a crew from Sydney could not infiltrate the Melbourne market and for the first year they seemed to have a point. By late 1998 we had started to get busy on the weekends but the weeknights were poor. By 2000 we had solid nights Thursday through to Sunday and became a regular part of Melbourne's club scene.

Having secured a coveted Chef Hat six years in a row, few seafood restaurants are as consistently pleasing as Bacash.

One of Melbourne’s most revered hotels, the Botanical, reopened its doors in November 2010 after a significant renovation and has emerged as one of Melbourne’s most exciting dining and drinking destinations.
Superbly located adjacent to the famous Botanic Gardens, the Botanical underwent a $4 million renovation by leading Melbourne design firm Webb +, transforming it into a multi-faceted venue complete with formal restaurant, informal wine store and café, a bar and lounge for more serious drinkers and the alfresco-inspired ‘Archer Room’ for casual dining and private events.
“With the Botanical, we have created an all inclusive venue combining a variety of quite separate but interlinked spaces, catering for every occasion,” says General Manager, Frederic Blevin.
A major drawcard of the new Botanical is Executive Chef, Cheong Liew OAM, who oversees the complete food offering. Famous for his innovative style of cooking, Liew’s highly individual approach is greatly influenced by his Malaysian heritage and the discovery of different cuisines, their cultural roots and cooking techniques. He is regarded as one of the most influential chefs of his time and oversees the complete food offering at the Botanical.
Liew believes that ‘food tastes better shared’ and presents a generous, family style menu in the restaurant, Wine Store and bar. It is a celebration of modern Australian cuisine with a South East Asian twist, incorporating only the highest quality, sustainable produce.
“Whatever the occasion, or wherever people choose to dine at the Botanical, I want them to experience the best possible produce of the season, cooked simply and from the heart,” says Liew.
The restaurant has a capacity for 90 diners including a Chef’s Table, crafted from a fallen tree in the Botanic Gardens. It provides a formal dining experience with the gravitas of dark-stained solid oak tables lightened by the edgy contemporary artworks of Melbourne artist, Janenne Eaton.
Adjacent to the restaurant is the popular Wine Store. Overlooking the gardens on Domain Road and offering a delicious menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Wine Store has quickly become a meeting point for walkers, business meetings and friends wanting to catch up over a glass of wine or meal. A boutique selection of wines is available for purchase, to take away or enjoy in the Wine Store or dining room.
Behind the Wine Bar is the spacious Main Bar featuring a long Pietro Grigio marble bar, modern terrace and casual lounge. It is an elegant place to enjoy craft brews, premium wines, an extensive list of spirits and cocktails and a range of Liew’s delicious bar snacks such as beggars’ pork and the great tasting plate.
Just past the Main Bar is the glass ceilinged Archer Room. A courtyard style area, it features a large-scale skylight, lush green planted wall and is flexible for large dinner functions up to 46 people.
Frederic Blevin (ex-Comme and Melbourne Wine Room) and Cheong Liew OAM (ex-The Grange, Adelaide) are joined by some of the industry’s leading professionals including Head Sommelier Tim Bryar (ex-Aria) and Head Chef, Tom Mulligan (ex-Windsor).
The Botanical’s restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days, the Wine Store from 7am till late seven days and the Bar from 12noon till late seven days.
